The first piece in the “Consider the Wildflowers” series, this all began as my own personal meditation on the words of Jesus in Luke 12:27. “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”
To quiet my own racing thoughts, I started considering the wildflowers. I took one of my favorite bike rides in Western MA and passed this lush field spattered with pinks and greens, glistening in the late August sun. The dark blue sky and rich green leaves remind me that the season had reached its fullest, fall right around the corner.
The flowers display their splendor, unhurried and unworried by the seasons about to change. An instruction, an invitation—consent to being, trust the process. This painting is an invitation. Be still, quiet your heart, and rest in the care of your Creator.
24×30” original acrylic painting; 2026. Painting continues around frame; wire hung for display. Purchase includes certificate of authenticity & handwritten letter from the artist.
