This painting is the second in a series of four based on the Scripture verse, Proverbs 13:12, which says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.“
“…deferred makes the heart sick.” At times on the journey of longing, the dream appears so far off that it seems it will never come. Waiting often disheartens us. The ache of infertility, of soil that seems it will never produce what it’s meant to.
I see waiting in the winter season. The chilling wind; snow covering the ground for weeks at a time. Cold, grey, lifeless. Dreams lie silenced by the season around them; comforts are few. But we wait in hope that all is dormant, not dead. What is dormant can be awakened.
Original acrylic painting on wooden painter’s palette; for display on easel or stand. Purchase includes a certificate of authenticity & handwritten letter from the artist.
