“…is a tree of life.” Summer is enjoying the gift. Is it the baby you prayed to God for years to give you? Enjoy her. Is it the husband you thought may never exist? Enjoy him. Is it the close friendships and community you never had when you were younger? Enjoy them. Is it the freedom to wake up every day and do what you were made to do? Enjoy it.
I see summer as rest, as honoring the dream come true by taking pleasure in it. Soaking up the sun, welcoming the warm embrace of lazy summer days. Enjoyment doesn’t have a schedule. The days pass in a joy-filled blur of sunshine and ice cream and evening walks. When your summer comes, soak it all in.
